We provide undergraduate textbooks at no charge.
High textbook costs is an issue that all institutions of higher learning must address. Here at UIW, we know it is difficult for some students to afford textbooks on top of tuition.
The curriculum at the University of the Incarnate Word (UIW) is diversified and steeped in tradition and academic excellence. The UIW School of Applied Sciences offers degree programs designed for the busy adult student. Adult learners need degrees relevant to their career or that will help the transition into a new career field. Our academic programs, whether graduate or undergraduate, contain the academic rigor that will engage your mind and challenge you to reach further than you thought possible.
At the undergraduate level, UIW maintains a common Core Curriculum with a liberal arts content that integrates the five tenets that are the foundation of the mission of our university; Faith, Innovation, Truth, Education and Service. Our faculty are scholarly practitioners and understand the relationship between academics and the global workplace. It is their commitment to the mission of UIW to guide you toward extension beyond the classroom and into your future.
